The Last Days

Under construction

The term "Last Days" is declared in Scripture as having commenced, impliedly  but not specifically stated, on the resurrection of Jesus and will continue until He returns in judgement on the World.

Heb 1:2  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

1Pe 1:20  Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

"The Day of the Lord"  will not come until

2Th 2:1  Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,

2Th 2:2  not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.

2Th 2:3  Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.

2Th 2:4  He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

2Th 2:5  Don't you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things?

2Th 2:6  And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.

2Th 2:7  For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.

2Th 2:8  And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.

2Th 2:9  The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,

2Th 2:10  and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

2Th 2:11  For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie

2Th 2:12  and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

It is clear that the Holy Spirit will be removed from the present physical universe

2Th 2:7  For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.

When studying Revelation it must be remembered that some of the events prophesied therein are not ine chronollogical order.  E.G

Rev 10:6  And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

states that time itself will cease to exist., a concept beyond human understanding, but in "

Rev 10:11  And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

meaning that those prophesys which appear later in Revalation refer to a time before "Time" ceased.

When you click on a link to another site,  I may or may not agree with their views on any particular subject, although I am generally happy with their approach. Many sites claiming to expound Christian beliefs are careless in their Bible quotes, referring only to those  apparently supporting their view but ignoring those that do not. I have tried to  avoid doing that. Our approach to Scripture must be to learn the truth, not to win arguments as if we were playing a game. You may think I have too many quotes but I believe the Sword of the Spirit should be used as much as possible.
