Homosexuality and the Scriptures,

In the Bible it is very clearly stated that God abhors sodomy between men and also buggery (humans with animals). Whilst the Old Testament has no direct text against sexual acts between women, it is absolutely clear there must be no sexual activity outside of marriage, which, (as in the Bible marriage can only be between a man and a woman) automatically means all sexual activity between women is abhorrent to God. It is perfectly clear from Scripture that true "Love" takes place regardless olf sexual orientatgion and it is only the act of physical consumnation which is clearly restricted.  The worldly description of "lust" to mean "Love"  is totally in error. True "Love" is an essential characteristic of God


1Jn 4:8  He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 

Mat 5:44  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 


But


Lev 18:22  Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Lev 18:23  Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.


The New Testament is evev more specific.


Rom 1:26  For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

1Co 6:9  Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,


There is absolutely no deviation from the above in any passage of scripture but there is the wonderful provision that forgiveness is available to all who sincerely repent (of the sin not just any consequences thereof).  e.g


1Co 6:9  Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 

1Co 6:10  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 

1Co 6:11  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.


PRAISE THE LORD !!!!


Note that  the preference of the company of same sex people to the exclusion of the  opposite sex is not decried in scripture. David was described  by God as


Act 13:22  And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. 


and on Jonathan's death David said


2Sa 1:26  I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.


Which indicates that while Jonathan may have had a preference for the company of men to that of women there is no suggestion that David felt the same. Clearly David, well knowing the severe teaching of the Old Testament, would not have entered into a sodomistic relationship but did not condemn Jonathan for his possible preference for male company., but (it has been pointed out to me) in todays worldly attitudes it is necessary to emphasise the condemnation of the practice of sodomy in any format.


Note that in the Bible all sexual activity between members of the same sex is abominable. and there is no recognition of a person changing sexual orientation.




Quite frankly, I see no possibility of any Bible believing Christian - especially those claiming to be ministers of the Bible Gospel - acting contrary to the above.  They quite clearly fall under the warning of


2Co 11:4  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted,

Gal 1:8  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 

Gal 1:9  As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 


Let us be blunt.  No person who continues  to participate in sexual activity with a person of the same sex can possibly call themselves a Christian in the New Testament meaning.


Rom 6:1  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 

Rom 6:2  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 


BUT REMEMBER


 1Co 6:11  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 


1Jn 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 


and


Rom 8:33  Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.


Praise the Lord!!!!


Unfortunately, most Western countries have made the expression of  such views illegal if they are expressed to a person who finds them offensive.  The simple repetition of Scripture is not illegal, especially if expressed as a concern for the wellbeing of anyone to whom they might apply. If I said to a person I thought to be involved in the practice of sodomy  "you are in danger of going to hell", that might be an illegal remark but if I said "this is what the Bible says please consider the consequences" it would not.


Conclusion

Homosexuality










The Bible is so very clear on this matter the conclusion is obvious.  You cannot be a Bible Believing Christian and persist in sodomy. To suggest that a Minister of the Christian gospel should teach (or practice) sodomy, is clearly heresy. Of course, a lapse therein can be covered by true repentance, as with all sin.


1Jn 1:8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 

1Jn 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
