An obvious major difference between most scientists and the Bible text concerns time. See my page (Age of the Earth). A decision on whether it is the scientists who are in error or our understanding of the Bible on the subject is incorrect, awaits events.
Scientists mainly agree that within a fraction of a second, the universe went from nothing to a huge size. and they call this "Inflation" but have no idea at all as to how that happened or why it stopped. The Bible states the universe was created by God's word, i.e. in an instant.
The order of creation events stated in the Bible agrees very largely with those envisaged by scientists.
Scientists believe that originally, all the land on the Earth was joined together in on large continent ("Pangea"), The Bible stated the same thousands of years ago.
Gen 1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
The Bible states that the earth "Divided" and scientists say the same (Drift of continents on their tectonic plates.)
Gen 10:25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
"Peleg" means "Earthquake"
It was as Pangea was divided that the movement of the tectonic plates began which created the currently existent mountains, so Pangea was probably a relatively flat, low lying land mass, meaning that Noah's flood did not have to be deep enough to cover today's highest mountains.

Isa 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
In this, we are told through Isaiah in the 8th century BC that the Earth is "a circle", long before it became known elsewhere.
