The Scriptures make it very clear that Bible believing Christians are citizens of Heaven
Php 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Heb 13:14 For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.
Luk 22:29 And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me,
Luk 22:30 so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Therefore we should not be hesitant in:
1) Proclaiming our citizenship but acknowledging our responsibilities to our temporary homeland. i.e. We obey it's laws and customs in so far as they do not require us to disobey God. If we do object then such objections should be peaceful and not used to force our beliefs on others, although we should feel free to proclaim our reasons.
1Pe 3:15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
2) Being ready to return there when the Lord calls us.
For most of us it will be a two stage journey. When our earthly bodies die we will enter a state of sleep but if we are living when Jesus returns we will caught up to meet him.
1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
That state of "sleep" can be interrupted but that can be an undesirable experience
1Sa 28:15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up?
But not if initiated by God
Mat 17:3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
